Sneak Peak

Here is a sneak peak at some of the new Stampin' Up! products in the new 2009/2010 Catalog and Idea Book. This set uses the new In-Colors along with the new level 3 hostess set called Kind and Caring thoughts (the flower image). also used is a new stamp set called teeny tiny wishes that fit perfectly in the word window punch and a new punch called the Modern Label Punch. There are so many great things in the new catty and the new In-Colors are starting to grow on me already! I am waiting for the new catalogs to be delivered and hoping that they arrive soon.

Ok, Ladies (and Gents if there are any reading this), here are the new In-Colors for the 2009/2010 Stampin' Up! Catalog. I have mixed feelings about these colors, but it seems like I always do when the new colors come out and I have to say goodbye to the old colors. I really liked all of the Spring colors this year and will be sad to see them go. So the new names are:

I am so sorry I have neglected my blog lately. I accepted a new job and it will be starting next week and it has taken up alot of my time getting ready for it. Unfortunately, I will be away for most of the next 2 months in training so you will not see much posting until I finish the training. In the meantime, Here is a pic of the 2nd scrapbook page that we did in our first scrapbook class. We had lots of fun in the class and I am planning another class real soon.

I know it has been a while since I posted and I do apologize. I went on vacation in the last week in April and lost all track of everything once I returned. I had a great time at Sea World with a good friend so you will be seeing layouts of my trip sometime in the future. For now, I want to share with you a layout that is part of a new series of scrapbooking classes I am starting. The layout is a redesigned sketch from NutzAboutStamping and I really love the way it came together. It uses the Bella Rose DSP and A Rose is a Rose stamp set along with a few other things. I will save the other layout for a surprise.

Viva La Verve Sketch challenge

Here is another sketch challenge that I happened upon and thought I would give a try. I am finding that I am able to come up with more ideas when the designing part is all done for me. This card is made with Kraft cardstock and the Parisian Breeze DSP. I also used the Fifth Avenue Floral stamp set for the rose and the Embrace Life stamp set for the words along with Baja Breeze striped grosgrain ribbon and some half pearls. The sketch is from the Verve Company message board on SCS and I am going to try to do a few sketch challenges each week. I would like to see all my friends and customers and give one a try and see what it sparks in you!

Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge

I have been feeling uninspired lately and seem to be casing alot of cards I see so I thought I would try a couple of sketch challenges and see what happens. I am pleasantly surprised that I as able to come up with something that I am happy with. I used the rub-ons from the Mini catalog along with the Eastern Blooms stamp set. Baja Breeze cardstock, Parisian Breeze DSP, Large and small brads, scallop border punch and dimensionals were also used. I really like the Mojo Monday sketches and will try to do them each week.

Mother's Day Class

Here it is. The Mother's day class that is sure to be a hit with any Mother receiving it. This super cute little bag holds 6 greeting cards with envelopes, a post-it note holder and 2 bookmarks. After I finished the card the other day I had a lightbulb come on (and let me tell you, it doesn't happen that often) and thought this set would be perfect for the spotlight technique and wanted to give it a try. I think it looks fabulous and know when my stamp club ladies see this they are going to want me to teach it in class. it is such an easy technique and gives the image such a wonderful look. I am not big a coloring, but I have to tell you that the watercolor pencils and the blender pen makes it so easy and even on regular whisper white paper it looks just great. I used the Lovely Lilac cardstock on the gable box and whisper white, Elegant Eggplant and So Saffron. The "For You" stamp is from the All Holidays stamp set and the ribbon is So Saffron from the SAB brochure that just finished.

Mother's Day

Now that Easter is about over Mother's Day is just around the corner and I am not waiting to get my card started this time. I have plans to make lots of cards to share and maybe I can sell some along the way at work. This card is Made with the Blooming Beautiful set by Stampin' Up!. I used the SU cwatercolor pencils and my blender pens which I love. The colors used are Lovely Lilac, Creamy Caramel, Whisper White and So Saffron. I stamped the image with Black Staz-On ink and used the Scallop border punch on the creamy caramel. I haven't stamped the sentiment on the front yet as I am not sure how I am going to do it, but wanted to share the card as I just love the way the watercoloring came out.

Happer Easter

Well, Easter is tomorrow and Hunter is going to be so excited to do his egg hunt in the morning. I love to take pictures and will have to make them black & white this time as the grass is so brown from the dry spell that we are having and it would not make for great pictures. Hopefully they will come out good as this is probably the last time that he will believe there is an Easter Bunny bringing the eggs. The card shown here is made with the Manhattan flower textured impressions die. This embossing folder is fabulous!! Only $7.95 and coordinates perfectly with the Fifth Avenue Floral stamp set.The Manhattan Impressions folder is just so elegant and can be used for so many different kinds of cards. It is a must have in my book. I also used vellum cardstock to emboss the image, Pink Pirouette cardstock and the stamp is from the All Holidays stamp set. Ribbon is whisper white.

Time is flying too fast

So, I am playing with projects and ideas and planning my Mother's Day class and completely forgot to make any Easter cards to send out to family and friends. I feel like I am in a time warp and it is just flying by. Before I know it school will be out for the summer. Lord knows I need a vacation bad!!! I did take some time today to get Hunter's Easter basket and egg hunt eggs filled and made this cute carrot box. It is filled with jelly beans and is made with a template that is posted on the Stampin' Up! website if I remember correctly. Well, I better get busy making some Easter cards and getting in the mail tomorrow. Better late than never, right?

Two-Step Stamping

I see quite a few people trying to do two-step stamping and not sure exactly how to do it so I thought I would shoot one of my world class videos (ha.ha) and show everyone how easy it is when you have the right tools. This card uses the Stampin' Up! set called A Rose Is A Rose and the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig which is a must have for two-step stamping as well as when you want to stamp your image in just the right place. It is great for getting your words and phrases straight on your project as well as stamping on smaller pieces of paper.

New Stampin Up! Matchbox Die

Everytime a new Big Shot die is released I have to have it. It is now an addiction that I think I need some kind of meeting for like AA. This matchbox die is too cute!! And although it is a little on the small side I see alot of potencial for it. It would be fab for party favors for a shower or birthday. It fits 2 Ghiradelli candies, 4 Hershey nuggets, Hershey kisses, jewelry. I could go on and on, but you get the idea. This is my first time making it so I used a retired DSP and also purchased the matching stamp set called Matchbox Messages which the "celebrate" tag is stamped from. If you look at the Matchbox die you will also notice it has 3 different tags that you can also diecut and use on all kinds of projects. This die and stamp set will be available in the Occasions Mini that is being released on April 1st. Birthday Card

I really love making a card to order and I was asked by a co-worker to make a birthday card for her 4 year old Granddaughter and I immediately knew what card I wanted to make. I saw this card on SCS by StampinAmma and just love it. The Hippo is from the Pun Fun stamp set (115054, $32.95) and "wish" is a partial stamp from one of the Define Your Life stamps(114950, $47.95). I used my Nestabilities to cut and emboss the whisper white cardstock and the Rose Red scalloped layer behind it. The patterned paper is the Candy Lane Designer Series Paper(113980, $9.95). I layered the Hippo a few times to give him depth and dimension and colored him with the SU watercolor pencils(101879, $19.95) and the aqua painter(103954, $16.95. I think she is as cute as can be and hope the Granddaughter thinks so too!

Another St. Paddy's day card

I am Irish on my Mother's side of the family and so I always try to wear green and send my Mom a card on St. Patrick's Day. here is a card made with the SAB set Polka Dot Punches to make the 3 leaf clover and the Define your Life definition set. I used garden green and whisper white cardstock along with some green DSP. Heart stamps and punches are great for making shamrocks and clovers and you always want to look at the items that you have and try to use them in different ways besides what they are meant for. Think outside the box and see what you can come up with!

This is Page 3 and 4 of our Sea World trip and the layout is completed with basic grey textured cardstock and elements from the Crew Kids Boy simply scrappin' Kit. All of the elements are precut and are cardstock weight as well as having adhesive already applied to the back makes it quick and easy to put your pages together.

Dolphins

This is page 2 of our Sea World trip and I have to say that I LOVE Dolphins! They are such beautiful and playful animals and so intelligent. We had a great time watching them in the aquarium and just love these pics of Hunter watching them. Again I used the Crew Kids Boy SSK along with pumkin pie textured cardstock. The title was cut out of bashful blue cardstock with my silhouette. The little orange word stickers on the pictures are also from the simply scrappin' kit and really give the layout an added touch.

Easter Basket

Easter is just around the corner and I for one cannot believe how fast this year is going by. Easter is always one of my favorite holidays because it has become a tradition that we have an Easter egg hunt on Easter morning and Hunter loves it so much. I can't believe he still believes in the Easter Bunny! I am sure that this will be my last year of it so I definitely want to savor every moment. This adorable paper basket is made with 6 of the Big Shot envelope die cuts and the Sale-A-Bration designer series paper. I also used the new eyelet border punch on the strip of DSP on the handle and the SAB ribbon. You cannot see the Filigree designer brads that are attach to each side of the basket handle. This is so easy to make and makes a great gift basket. I took it to work yesterday and now need to make 2 more for a co-worker.

Sea World

I have so many pictures to scrap that I don't know where to start anymore. We took Hunter to Sea World at couple of years ago and I came across the pics recently and thought I would get them scrapbooked. I used the retired Jersey Shore DSP and Crew Kids Boy simply scrappin' kit as I bought them to do some scrapping, but did not get around to it while it was current. The simply scrappin' kits make scrapbooking easy and although I did use some other elements in my pages, I found that the SSK did help me design my pages and get them conpleted. I used Wild Wasabi, pumpkin pie and bashful blue textured cardstock and I cut the title out with my silhouette. In the next couple of weeks you will see the pages that I made and then I will post my bew pages with the current simply scrappin' kit called Tailor Made. It has rich colors that are great for boy pages.

Spring banner

I purchased the Stampin' Up! Pennant die and needed to make something with it and this is what I came up with. It is hanging between my family room and dining room and everyone comments on it when they come in. A friend gave me a great idea to complete the other side with the word "Easter" and it will be double duty and I am going to work on it this week! I used so saffron and certainly celery cardstock along with Delicate dots DSP in the SAB mini. The alphabet is the Big Shot Serif essentials alpha and the flowers are some paper and silk flowers I had laying around.

Thoughts and Prayers

A Co-worker asked if I would make a sympathy card for someone she knew that had lost 2 small children in a tragic car accident and I immediately pulled out my new Thoughts and Prayers set. This is a beautiful set and although we all hope we will never have to use it, it is a great set to have for these types of cards. The papers are the retired Afternoon tea DSP, chocolate chip cardstock and baja breeze cardstock. The ribbon is the baja breeze striped ribbon and I attached the brads with 1/2" chocolate chips circles.

Another scrapbook page that I was working on and I think it turned out pretty good. I like doing the journaling around the pictures as it gives it a border as well as info on the pics. I used Stampin' Up! Pacific Point card stock as the base and Retired Jersey Shore for the little bit of striped paper that was used on the left side. I also used chipboard letters and colored them with Whisper White craft ink and Whisper White card stock was used to border each of the pictures.

St. Patrick's Day Card

Since St. Patty's Day is the next holiday on the calendar I thought I would try to make a card even though I do not have any SPD stamp sets. I used the Best Wishes and More stamp set (item #111602, $26.95) that I received at the Regional meeting. It has a heart stamp that I used to make the 3 leaf clover. The Lucky Definition is from the Define Your Life stamp set (item #114950, $47.95)You will also notice the Old olive DSP has a sheen to it. It is the new Rockabilly specialty Designer Series Paper (item #114039, $11.95) and each of the papers has a embossed side and a smooth side. This paper set has such beautiful papers with stripes, cherries and skulls and matches both the Tart and Tangy stamp set (item #111514, $12.95) and the Just Jawing stamp set (item #111660, $25.95). The ribbon is a white taffeta and the paper is elegant eggplant. I used dimensionals to give the clover a little lift. I really like the way this card turned out and I think I will go see what other sets I have that can adapted to St. Patty's Day!

Summer Fun

I have so many pictures to scrap from the past few years and I finally feel like I can get them scrapped and in books. In the summer of 2007 my Niece and Nephew came down from Indiana to stay with my In-Laws for a few weeks and the kids have a great time with my son. They do not get to see each other much and when they do all hell breaks loose. It was 3 weeks I will not forget anytime soon! I found these summer die cuts in my stash from years ago and thought they would look great on this layout so out they came. I used my ink pads to color the die cuts and I am pleased with the results. The base color is Taken With Teal and the patterned paper is retired Jersey Shore. You will start to notice that I have started resizing my photos and printing them out on my photo printer because I have a bad habit of taking most photos close up and to not leave any cropping room. I fould that I have a program on my computer that allows me to print my photos in lots of different sizes as a combination on 1 sheet of photo paper and it makes it much easier for me to scrap lots of photos instead of choosing just a few that will fit.

Scrapbooking again

It has been quite a while since I scrapbooked and really wanted to get it going again even though I have not been taking pictures lately either. Photography and scrapbooking was a great passion of mine at one time and then life got in the way and it fell to the wayside. When the new catalog came out I decided to purchase the new Simply Scrappin' Kit Tailor Made (item #114326, $19.95) as it is a great kit for boys and men and since that is all I have in the house (besides me) I thought that I could jumpstart my scrapping again and it worked! This is a fabulous kit and is great for boys, men, outdoor pics, etc. The colors of the kit are: Artichoke, Not Quite Navy, Chocolate Chip and Sahara Sand. I also used the Contempo Alphabet (item #111570, $42.95) to stamp the title and then decided I wanted it a little raised and used the Versamarker pen (item #100901, $3.95) to trace over the letters and used clear embossing powder (item #109130, $4.75) to emboss it and give it a little texture. The Crop-a-dile (item #108362, $29.95) was used to make the holes and set the star eyelets in the circles and I raised them slightly with Dimensionals (item #104430, $3.95).

Card Organizer Class

I just love this project! I am really bad at keeping track of dates and sending out cards on time. This organizer is the perfect answer to this problem. Kids Valentines cards

Valentine's Day is just one of those holidays that you know you have to make a card for and having a son who is in Elementary school I cannot resist making cards and treat for the kids each chance I get. Stampin' Up!'s Pun Fun stamp set was just perfect for what I had in mind and I think they turned out cute. I also made these Sweet Tarts treat holders for each of the kids in class. The idea came from one the great ladies on SCS and they were so easy to put together using the Love You Much stamp set and Candy lane paper.

Recipe:

Cards: Pun Fun stamp set, watercolor paper, basic black, riding hood red and red red cardstock. watercolor pencils, blender pen, 3 1/4 x 3 1/4 white envelopes.

Treat box: Love You Much stamp set, Candy Lane DSP, pink pirouette and riding hood red cardstock, whisper white cardstock, scallop circle punch, 1 1/4" circle punch, white grosgrain ribbon.

Friday club meeting

We will be having our first Stampers club meeting this friday, February 6th from 7 to 9pm. Please make sure that you mark your calendar and going forward all club meetings will be on the first Friday of each month. We will be learning the technique that you see on the backround of the stamped images that are on the cards pictured. It is called several things, but smooshing is the one I know it by. Lots of fun to do and quite easy with a fabulous result and I would encourage everyone to try different color combinations to see what you can come up with.

This is one of my favorite sets. I think of Summer, picnics, homemade lemonade and all the great things Spring and Summer bring. I also think this this set is perfect for teacher cards. I am very disappointed that they chose to retire this fabulous paper called Summer picnic, but what can I do. I know I will have to get some more of it somewhere as I plan on using this set for a long time. The box is designed to fit the 3x3 note cards and you can get 10 or 12 notes with envelopes in it.

I received my Love You Much Bundle on Friday and I have had a great time this past weekend playing with the stamps and paper in this set. I have to say that "I LOVE IT". I found the set easy to work with and I was able to come up with card ideas quite easily. I see so much potential for this set. Anniversaries, Valentines, Birthdays and Just because cards. Valentine Heart box tutorial

After many requests for the directions for my Valentine Heart box I have made another one of my video tutorials. Sorry it has taken so long to get it posted. The systems seem to be so slow and it has taken me several tries and all day to get it uploaded. This is a great little box for the someone special in your life. It is made with Stampin' Up!s Pretty in Pink DSP and the matching cardstock. I also used sticky strip and double sided white satin ribbon. I have so many other ideas I want to share with you for Valentine's Day and I am trying to decide what little something I am going to make for my Son's class and Teacher and as soon as I have it completed I will post it. Christmas Cards

I have been in such a rut in the last few weeks. I had to have a medical procedure done and it seems to have taken the energy and creativity right out of me! I have been racking my brain trying to come up with an original idea for a Holiday card that was not only for Christmas, but was for every holiday and I think I came up with a card that will be fine for all. I usually always try to use only Stampin' Up! products in my cards, but did use my cuttlebug this time for the embossed snowflake backround and the sentiment inside the card is a generic holiday saying. I hope you can see the sparkle on the snowflake. It is an embossing powder called kaleidoscope and it is really beautiful when the light hits it. You have to see it in real life as the picture does not do it justice.I would like to come up with a few more designs and post them in the next couple of days using just Stampin' Up! stamps and products. I am also going to try to do a few more video tutorials in the next few weeks as I know you all enjoy watching them and are visual learners like me.

I saw these wish list pad holders on SCS in the holiday blitz tutorials and thought they would make a quick video. They are very easy to make and would make great stocking stuffers for Christmas. You could also decorate them as a grocery list pad holder too. I used Stampin' Up!'s Ski Slope designer series paper as well as Old Olive, Real Red and Whisper White cardstock for the video. Snowflake

Here is a tutorial for a paper snowflake that I taught to some friends at work last year. Both snowflakes (or stars) are made with Stampin' Up!'s Ski Slope paper from the 2008 Holiday Mini Catalog. I really love this paper and you will probably see more of my holiday projects using it. I also used stampin' Up! Sticky Strip and they are the only 2 items you need for this project. I punch a small hole in the top of it and it hangs from a piece of fishing line so it looks like it is floating. You could make them in different sizes as I did and they would look fabulous hanging in a window. The red and green flake is 6" and is made with 12 pieces of 6" x 3/8" strips and the green and white flake is made with 12 pieces of 12" x 5/8" strips.

Bag in a box

Many of you saw my earlier post of my Halloween box in a bag that I made for my Son's class and wanted to know how to make it. Here is a video tutorial for the construction of the bag. They would be great for any occasion and I hope you find this tutorial helpful. Here is the picture again of the project and you can make it any height you wish. The bag pictured is 4" high and the one in the tutorial is 5" high.

Mini scrapbook album class

This is the mini album that will be made in an upcoming class this month. It is one of my favorite projects so far and although it looks difficult to make, it is actually quite easy. For this project I used the new Ski Slope paper from the Stampin' Up! Holiday mini catalog and it has turned out to be my favorite paper so far. Just beautiful colors and designs and I cannot wait to try it on some cards. I also used the coordinating cardstock with it, CD mailers and a luggage clasp to close it. I love all the pockets and tags in the book that you can add pictures or journaling to and it is very interactive. Hope you enjoy the peak at it.

I have to tell you that I just love the new top note die for the bigshot!! I saw what Gretchen Barron did with the faces and the die and had to do it too. they were cute before, but now are just too cute! This die is so versatile and cannot wait to share other projects that I create with it. Sorry I did not use the halloween DSP from Stampin' Up! I just have not received it yet and was anxious to try this out. I do have to tell you if you have a cuttlebug or other die cut system that will handle the larger dies that they will work. Calendar kit

I really love this 2009 calendar kit from the New 2008 Holiday mini catalog. I needed something to keep track of all the birthdays and occasions that I need to make cards for and this is just perfect. I found it quite easy to put together and even though this picture shows it unbound, I did take it over to the office supply store and have it spiral bound so that I would not lose any of the days. I also stamped little images on each of the months as you can see in one of the pictures. This would also make a wonderful gift for someone special and has room where you could add pictures if you desire. Sorry about the lousy pictures. I will try to get better ones posted.

I want my Mummy

Here is the last card we will be doing on our last club meeting for this session. I really love how it came out and it is sooo easy to do. Halloween has always been one of my favorite holidays and I use to go all out and decorate my home for the kids, but we just dont see any trick or treaters in my neighborhood anymore and it is too bad. My son will trick or treat in my In-Laws neck of the woods (so to speak) which is only a couple miles from me and we always have a good time. They live near the intercoastal and get lots of kids (big & little) in their neighborhood. I hope to keep posting more of my spooky (and not so spooky) creations for the entire month.

Here is a pic of the cards my club members will be making at the meeting this Friday night. I wanted to do something for Halloween and I just love these cards along with the bag I posted earlier. I am still trying to perfect the Dracula card as I am not totally pleased with it yet. I am also going to make a mummy card. These are also great examples of what you can do with your supplies if you do not have a stamp to make a holiday card with. I am tossing around the idea to do a punch class for my club members for the month of November. I will post some of my creations when I get them completed.

Thinking of the Holidays

I cannot believe the holidays are upon us already! This year has just flown by and it will be 2009 before we know it. This is a great time of year and is also an opportunity to make lots of cards and paper crafting items. I have been busy working on Halloween bags for my Son's 2nd grade class. My original thought was to make these bags for the kids, but I keep seeing different ideas all over the web and now I am not so sure. I know that I want to make something that will hold candy as well as a few little items that I purchased for the kids like pencils, erasers and glow bracelets to wear Halloween night. This box was made with some papers that I had laying around from last year before I became a demo.

Paper: Jeepers Creepers, Heidi Grace designs. Orange and yellow orange cardstock, Bazzill. Whisper white cardstock, Stampin' Up. Ink: basic black, pumpkin pie and really rust, Stampin Up. Punches: Scallop circle, scallop edge & round tab, Stampin' Up. Misc: $1 ribbons, dimensionals and red line tape.

I wanted to post a couple more projects that I have completed recently. I have been trying to stay busy with the stamping and scrapping and I have been struggling lately trying to get inspired. I guess I have just hit a lull.

Here is a card set that I made with the new SU set Say it With Scallops. This is the Ronald McDonald Charity set and $2.00 from each set sold goes to this wonderful charity. The set also has a matching scallop punch for $15.95. I used my cuttlebug embossing folders for this as I just love them even though they are not SU. Papers and ink used are Riding Hood Red, Whisper White and Old Olive.

Time flies

Wow, it has been a while since I posted and I really need to get on the ball. I have been a busy month and I am still playing catch up. Hunter and I went to Rapids water park a couple of weeks ago and I am still recooperating from it. We has free tickets to go again before the middle of October and I hope I am up to it. This time I think I will take a camera. Hunter's Birthday was the 6th of Sept and I made these cute cookie baggies for his class. His teacher loved them and send me a little note telling me how cute they were. I used the SU Pun Fun stamp set for the rocket. The happy birthday and Hunter stamps are unknown. Also used SU brilliant blue, yo yo yellow, whisper white and really red cardstock.

Stampin' Up! convention

Well, the convention is over and lots of great news this year. The biggest being that we have partnered with Sizzix to bring to you the Big Shot die cutting machine with exclusive Stampin' Up! dies!!! This machine will cut over 50 different materials and I think it is the next must have item. I have always wanted to be able to cut my own chipboard and metals and now I will be able to. I just love the bag that they have available and the dies are wonderful for cards and scrapbook pages. The Big Shot will be available for order to customers on September 2nd.

Also.... The new catalog will be released next Monday, August 11th. I am so excited and so will you be when you see all the great new stamp sets and accessories. I have gotten just a glimps of them and I cannot wait for the catties to arrive. I will be stalking the UPS man all week!

I made a couple of cards for a friend at work that is attending a baby shower next month. I knew in a minute I wanted to do the onesie card for her. I love the look of this card and think it is so darling. Both cards are made with the retired Sale-a-bration set So Many Scallops, bashful blue cardstock and ink, whisper white cardstock, paper from the hostess set paper pack. I also used white satin ribbon and a few navy brads. Hope you all like them!

Here is another card made with the new In Colors and new DSP!!! I love the new designer series paper called Bella Rose. It is so beautiful and when you see the rose patterns you are going to die. Of course, I could not use them on this card so you will just have to wait to see it on the next one. The papers are In Colors Kiwi Kiss and Riding Hood Red along with Whisper White. I did throw in a touch of Chocolate Chip and the new level 1 hostess set Deer Friends and current set All Holidays (the words). I just love this hostess set and I see it getting used a lot for treat bags and food gifts this holiday season. It is the same as the Halloween set called Batty For You that I just GOT to have. The Batty For You set has been on the dormant list for this past catalog and I hope that it makes the new catalog because I just know you will all like it as much as you like this set!

New In Colors

Here are the new In Colors that are coming out next month!! This picture is from Dawn's site (www.dostamping.typepad.com ) and I hope she does not mind me sharing it. I received my sample pack in the mail this past week and have been playing with it today. I have to say that I do like a few of the colors, but I am not too sure about Riding Hood Red and Tangerine Tango. They seem a little faded to me and I will need some time to get use to them. I am hoping if I see them used in some cards it will change my opinion of it. Below is a card I have made with Kiwi Kiss and a SU set called Regal Rose that is retired. I absolutely love roses and have been hanging on to this set for a while and finally decided to pull it out and use it and I am glad I did!

New project

After a stamp club meeting last night, where I was teaching the art of Heat embossing, I started to play with some ideas of making a card with a forground and backround image like many I have seen using the Lovely As A Tree SU set. I really wanted to find another set that I could use and decided on Touch Of Nature also by Stampin' Up! I cut out the window with my retangle coluzzle and an exacto knife around the branch. I also embossed the bird and branch with versamark and clear embossing powder. It is not as good as thought it would be when I finished, but it is a start and I will keep working on different ideas of this same concept. I hope all of the ladies that attended last night will try their own version of this technique.

Father's Day card

We are going to start the month of June is a couple of days and Father's Day is just around the corner. I had a class to make this cute card from my Dad and it was lots of fun. I love that you can place pics, gift cards, money or whatever you like in the card just like a real wallet. I think I will give my Dad a gas gift card this Father's Day as I feel this would be a great gift in this time of outrageous gas prices. I got the idea for the card from Dannie Graves on SCS and want to thank her for such a great idea!

Techniques class

Friday night's techniques class was real fun and I am glad that you all enjoyed learning to make the secret slider card and how to do poppin' pastels. I thought you all would like to see how my card turned out. I decided to make this card my Mother's Day card and I do believe it turned out fabulous!! I know my Mom will love it and not just because I made it (well, maybe just because I made it).

Next month will will be learning embossing and I will be working on some card examples to show the different things you can do with embossing. If there is anything the club members would like to learn or see demonstrated please send me an e-mail and let me know. I want to make sure that I am teaching you things you are interested in.

Here are the pics from the workshop I held on Saturday. The first is a card I case'd from Kristina Werner. I loved the faux tile look and had to try it for myself.

The box tempate is from SCS and was quite easy to assemble. It matches the Make-n-take card below and it was confiscated by one of my guests for a Birthday present she needed to give to a friend.

Workshop!

I had my first workshop on Saturday and it was lots of fun!! I think everyone had a great time and cannot wait to receive the goodies that they ordered. I also have 3 ladies signed up for stamp club and 2 possible workshops. I am pleased with the way the demonstrations went and everyone loved the make-n-take. My first post on my new blog as a demo. I never thought I was one for blogging, but it is a necessary in this day and age where everyone and their Mothers have a blog. I will be posting pics of projects, updating classes and workshops that are coming up.
